Jennifer is a Registered Social Worker with the OCSWSSW (Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers) and OASW (Ontario Association of Social Workers). She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from University of Toronto and an Undergraduate Degree in Social Work from Ryerson University.

During her Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, Jennifer completed placements with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) and The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). She has many years experience in child protection, foster care, youth centres, and group homes providing support to children, youth, families, and individuals experiencing life challenges, ongoing verbal and physical conflict, challenges in parenting, mental health, and substance misuse.

Jennifer also has extensive experience working with “hard to serve” populations in a variety of social work settings. As a clinician and community service worker, Jennifer loves to use her humorous personality combined with compassion to support clients who have seen some very tough times. Jennifer has working knowledge of the Family and Criminal Justice Systems, where she has developed exceptional skills in supporting anyone facing these dilemmas by giving them a voice and providing the opportunity to be heard. She has developed comprehensive assessments, treatment, and discharge plans for clients served within medical treatment, child welfare, and correctional programs. As a result, she has excellent crisis intervention skills to determine the degree of risk to the community, as well as defuse potentially hostile situations.

Jennifer offers compassionate and sensitive support to children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing issues relating to anxiety, depression, stress, mood disorder, trauma, abuse, and self-esteem. Jennifer has established a very warm and understanding way to connect with youth and young adults to support them during the struggles and transitions they face in everyday life. She applies a variety of methods in her work including Family Systems, CBT, DBT, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Her goal is to improve the lives of her clients by enhancing their social and emotional growth and providing solutions to better their mental health and well-being.
