Maya is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario). She holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology & Health Studies from the University of Toronto. Maya has years of experience working in healthcare, with experience in digital health and crisis responding. Through these experiences, she recognized the impact of providing support to those experiencing challenges navigating the complexities of life.
Maya offers support to adolescents (13+) and adults experiencing issues related to anxiety, stress, depression, relationship concerns, trauma, grief, life transitions and self-esteem. Maya emphasizes a Client-Centred, Strengths-Based and Holistic framework while also incorporating skills and techniques from various therapeutic approaches including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
Maya recognizes the courage and strength needed to recognize when you need support and to reach out to begin your therapeutic journey. In your space together Maya will honour this strength and vulnerability and meet you where you’re at. Her approach to therapy is to understand that you are the expert of your own life and you deserve an individualized treatment plan based on your unique needs, experiences, strengths and goals. She strives to provide a safe, collaborative, empowering space that enhances self-discovery. Together, you will work to establish goals, build resiliency and self-compassion, and identify effective coping strategies.
