V – Vision

At Vault, we begin with the end in mind, taking a proactive approach to your therapeutic needs. Nobody wants to feel stuck working on the same goals forever. We want you to see the end, to believe that there is an end. You can take control, feel empowered and continue working on your individual needs and goals when you leave your appointments.  Regardless of age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status or disabilities, Vault is here to help build upon your current toolbox to reach your full potential and embody the best “you”.

A  – Authenticity

We’re not just a weekly or bi-weekly appointment in your calendar that you feel obligated to go to. At Vault, we believe that our clients benefit from an authentic therapeutic relationship. This means that we share our personalities and our empathetic nature, creating a bond that leaves our clients feeling comfortable and ready to engage.

U  – Understanding

Everyone, regardless of whether they’re in therapy or not, wants to feel understood, to feel heard and to feel validated in their thoughts and beliefs. At Vault, we hear you, and we will work to understand and empower you to live your best life. With understanding comes acceptance; acceptance of yourself, your situation and others. This creates an ability to take control of your mental health, becoming your own biggest emotional supporter. We work with our clients to not only understand their struggles but also to understand how to manage or overcome these while giving yourself a little grace in the process.

L – Learning

“Commit yourself to lifelong learning. The most valuable asset you’ll ever have is your mind and what you put into it” – Albert Einstein

If Einstein believes it, so do we. At Vault, we truly believe we can always grow, becoming better in our work and personal lives. We are always growing, learning and figuring out the best practices to keep up with our clients’ ever-changing needs. Ongoing training is vital in continuing to understand and grow with our practices and it’s something we take pride in here at Vault.

T – Togetherness

One-sided therapy does not work. To elicit change, our team and our clients must work together, creating and evolving that positive therapeutic relationship. At Vault, we believe that we must feel that sense of togetherness not only in our practice but in our community too. We are active throughout the communities we serve; our families live in the communities, we play in these communities and we work to better these communities. Implementing a multi-disciplinary approach, Vault practitioners work hard to ensure client’s are able to access any and all support they need, creating a true feeling of togetherness.

Signs It’s Time To See a Therapist

With time, therapy can address a range of mental conditions and give you the tools that you need to manage your symptoms in your daily life. Mental health challenges are common and can address people across all age groups. The following are some signs that indicate that seeing a therapist might help you:

  • You feel overwhelmed: With day-to-day tasks or tasks that once felt normal but now cause immense stress.

  • You feel fatigued: Abnormal fatigue levels might lead you to spend days in bed.

  • You feel negative emotions: If you feel emotions such as anger, sadness and resentment. Also, if you believe that your negative emotions are high, you should see a therapist.

  • You feel increased levels of anxiety: If you’re often anxious in a way that’s affecting your ability to function, we recommend making an appointment with us.

  • You feel apathetic: Losing interest in things you once enjoyed is a common symptom of depression.

You don’t have to feel a certain way or experience specific symptoms to visit a therapist. Just feeling that you need help is enough. Therapy can help you learn more about yourself so you can take actionable steps to improve your life. To schedule an appointment, please reach out to our therapists in Whitby, Toronto, or Barrie.

“Each of our therapists bring their own unique lived experience, background, training and style to their sessions. Our therapists ensure a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship, that allows clients to take steps towards living a more fulfilling life and them to deepen the connection with themselves and others.”
