An unexpected event or life change can often emit a trauma response that we never expected. Sometimes, our bodies emit a response to an event that we can’t even pinpoint. At Vault, we work to explore these trauma responses and manage the symptoms associated. Some symptoms of trauma include:

  • Anxiety/depression

  • Flashbacks

Causes of trauma can include: 

  • Domestic violence
  • Childhood events
  • Abuse
  • Death/Loss

Because we may not know what caused our trauma response, often therapists will work long-term with clients to process events in a safe space. Therapeutic modalities often used with trauma clients include: 

  • Trauma informed CBT
  • Prolonged Exposure Therapy
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EDMR)
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
