Because we may not know what caused our trauma response, often therapists will work long-term with clients to process events in a safe space. Therapeutic modalities often used with trauma clients include:
- Trauma informed CBT
- Prolonged Exposure Therapy
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EDMR)
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
