Children & Youth Counselling

In a world where day-to-day demands are increasing significantly, resulting in adults reaching out for help more and more, it is no surprise that children are also needing support. Our therapists are trained to offer a safe, non-judgmental space to help children be successful and reach their full potential.

At Vault, we have experience working through:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bullying
  • Issues in school
  • New transitions
  • Body image/self-esteem
  • Trauma
  • Grief and loss
  • Self harming
  • Substance Abuse

….and more

Adolescence is one of the hardest times in a child’s life. They are experiencing so many emotions, hormone changes, peer issues and internal conflict. It’s important that children feel they have someone they can talk to openly and trust. Teenagers are creating an identity for themselves and learning where they belong in their world; having someone to offer support during this time is never a bad idea. Commonly, children and teens are unable to communicate in words their frustrations to those closest to them and parents will instead see an increase in troubling behaviours they are unable to manage.

Common behaviors include:

  • Bed wetting
  • Substance abuse
  • Self-harm
  • Nightmares
  • Peer conflicts
  • Avoiding or disliking school suddenly
  • Aggression

…and more
